EV and Car Charging
Reach Active is aware that public in both the UK and Ireland are becoming more and more comfortable with electric vehicles as an alternative to petrol and diesel fuelled cars, a trend which is likely to accelerate as more electric vehicles are appearing on the roads.
In general, the AC/DC fast charge points are supplied with a foundation piece (steel or precast concrete) which must be set in a 0.6 m cube of concrete and surrounded by a plinth so that the user can access the charge point. The AC chargers are a smaller unit and are generally fixed to a small plinth at finished ground level. The fast chargers will charge a car to 90% in approximately 20minutes where the AC charger will take approximately 4 to 5hrs to charge
ERA is committed to involvement in a range of renewable work streams and this project provided an excellent fit with our well established ESB substation MV/LV and HV installation activities.
ERA have been delighted to be undertaking the installation of these charge points over the past number of years. These charging points are typically located in private car parks, shopping centres, service stations, business centres, and work-place’s and on street parking locations throughout the country.
Electric car charging points
EV charging hubs are public stations solely dedicated to electric car charging. These “hubs” can be built either as standalone stations or directly on an existing gas station’s premises.
Reach Active has already provided electric car charging point connections in Ireland for the ESB and recently been awarded SSE 5 year EV Hub Framework contracts in the UK and in Ireland.
